Portsea Surf Shack featured in The Design Files
04/07/2023
This small refurbishment entailed the revitalization of a tired 1950’s interior with the intent to create a clam and crafted interior that subtly referenced the coastal setting.
Our clients, a family of three with two dogs, purchased this compact, two bedroom unit because of its proximity to the surf breaks, fishing spots, family and the local pub. We note that no order of importance in this list was disclosed!
You can read more about the project in The Design Files article here: A Simple 1950s Shack Turned Family Home.

Camillo House covered in Houses Kitchen + Bathrooms
02/07/2023
We were elated to discover that Camillo House was featured on the cover of the current issue of Houses Kitchens & Bathrooms.
Set amongst the dunes of the Mornington Peninsula, Camillo House is a unique coastal getaway. In collaboration with Clare Hillier of CS_Studio and LUBU Building Group, a 1980's brick home was transformed into accommodation with a focus on sensory pleasure, memory making and contemplation.
In the words of Houses Editor Alexa Kempton, "This evocative home leans into the hedonism of a beachside escape, using different materials to characterize each discrete space for cooking and bathing."
You can find issue 18 of Houses Kitchens & Bathrooms in your local newsagent or buy a copy online here.

06/01/2021
We are very excited to announce that a residential proposal of ours in Richmond received planning approval late in 2020. The project is a two storey addition to a heritage listed cottage and involved intensive liaison with the local council to address neighbourhod privacy while maintaining an outlook to the city skyline. Construction is scheduled to start in 2021.
Architeam Award Winner!
11/11/2020
Brunswick Lean-to has been announced as the winner of the Residential Alterations and Additions category at the 2020 Architeam Awards! We are humbled and honoured. A huge thank you to our wonderful clients and Cale Peters Constructions for your dedication and commitment to the project.
Judges Citation:
“For most architects, especially when they are starting their journey, saying less but brilliantly, is tricky. This project is a delight of understatement, order and restraint. It is based on the simplest of plans but suggests heroic order – Palladian and Guilford Bell come to mind - and all in a tiny backyard package.
By retaining the integrity of the existing four-roomed house, and adding this pavilion, the architects have described a voyage from what is - to what will be - which respects both conditions. It’s just a tiny piece of a great city, but the architectural celebration outweighs that domestic scale.”
