Blair Smith Architecture is a design studio based in Melbourne, working across Victoria and Western Australia.
Since 2016, we have been designing buildings imbued with rigour, clarity and spirit. Our focus is to create places that are poetic and pragmatic in a way that enriches each lived experience.
We believe that architecture should expand on the aspirations of the client and embody a thoughtful, open-minded process.
BSA fosters enduring and trusting relationships with clients and collaborators. Better relationships equal better outcomes.
We are practicing from Fitzroy, Melbourne on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country.
Blair’s interest in architecture first stemmed from an early affinity for drawing and a natural curiosity for the way buildings can be poetically composed.
Since establishing the practice, Blair has procured a body of bespoke residential projects that demonstrate a high level of design resolution and rigour. This portfolio of work is underpinned by his enduring relationships with clients, trades and specialist consultants.
Blair studied Architecture at the University of Western Australia where he received the Robert Tindale Scholarship for a distinction average over five years of study.
Prior to starting BSA, Blair worked in some of Australia’s most reputed practices and has contributed to a number of projects awarded at a national level by the Australian Institute of Architects.
Beyond his practice, Blair’s advocacy for the profession has extended to teaching, public speaking and mentorship.
